Meet your guide on the steps outside of Castle Clinton's North Entrance. Castle Clinton is inside Battery Park on the southern tip of Manhattan. Your guide will have your entry tickets. Just show up and tell the guide your name. They will be wearing an orange hat and/or a blue jacket/shirt.

Tour will end on Ellis Island. Guests can spend more time there if they wish or they can head back on the first ferry returning to Battery Park.

  • Confirmation will be received at time of booking
  • Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of the tour. The tour departs promptly and if late, you will NOT be able to catch up and will miss the tour. There are no refunds for missing the tour.
  • Please note the earliest time tour will have the least wait. Later tours will encounter longer wait times.
  • The guided portion of the tour is approximately either 0.5, 2 or 4 hours.
  • Food available for purchase on the ferry, at the Statue of Liberty, and on Ellis Island
  • Operates in all weather conditions. Please dress appropriately.
  • Security screening will take place prior to entering the ferry. Visitors to the park are required to undergo airport-style security screening.
  • Photographs are permitted, but tripods and monopods are prohibited.
  • Children 3 and under free with paid adult ticket.
  • Wheelchair accessible

A:We’ll be on our feet for most of the tour. At both Liberty and Ellis islands, your guide will lead you on a walking tour. The ferry also has multiple levels with stairs and there are about 160 steps to reach the pedestal of the Statue of Liberty.

The sites and locations were amazing but as for the tour it was terrible. Our guide was basically running and when we went through security before the ferry, our guide didn't even let the whole group grt through the line. Me, my wife, and 2 other people were left behind. We ended up doing the tour ourselves and had a good time but the guide was useless and not worth the money we paid for the experience.

The ONLY reason you’re purchasing a viator tour is because the regular statue cruises time slots sold out, mostly because of companies like Viator. They’re charging almost three times as much as the standard statue city cruises rate for virtually no other service offered. Of course there’s a tour guide who attempts to offer extra insight and provide historical background, but there’s nothing the guide can really do to enrich the experience. The guide yells over the noise of the crowd to try to share historical facts you can look up on Wikipedia, and gives you tips on how to enjoy the boat ride better I guess. It’s all rather silly.

We had an excellent guide. NYC should be ashamed using ferries no fit for cattle. Horrible benches , no air conditioning in 91 degree weather. Had to wait 25 min with the sun baking us to get back. They packed the boat such that we couldn’t find a place to sit.

Unfortunately this was an absolute rip off. The ferry tickets cost 24 dollars per person so please just buy them directly. I complained to the company and instead of addressing the issue they said that because we were a bit late( but caught up with the guide before embarking on the ferry) we did not experience the tour. The tour itself was only of liberty Island and eventhough the guide himself was ok it is in NO WAY worth the amount of money paid. I have booked experiences with viator all over the world and this has been the only negative experience. Additionally when trying to address this with the company they failed to take responsibility and falsely claimed that I degraded the guide and that we did not participate in the tour in order to avoid compensating.

Ms. Elita Eliades, you are leaving this review in bad faith. You know full well you missed half of the tour because you were late. We also have no record of you joining a tour along the way and you are unable to even describe your guide let alone offer their name. For all we know you joined another company's tour. Regardless of having joined a different companies tour, the one thing that is true is that you were degrading in your language towards whatever guide you found along the way. It was shameful and continues to be so with this incorrect review. We had an in-depth conversation where you shared your offensive views and when asked what else could be done to mitigate your anger you did not respond. The only avoidance was on your end. In the future, if you show up for tours and events on time you will participate in the full experience. This is a great way to have an enjoyable time and avoid acting unkind towards others.
